BBC Radio 4’s Pick of the Week Features My Tribute at Sycamore Gap

I was honoured to be featured on BBC Radio 4’s Pick of the Week in 2023, following a deeply personal moment I experienced at the site of the Sycamore Gap Tree.

Shortly after the beloved tree was tragically felled, I visited the site — a place that had long stood as a symbol of natural beauty and quiet strength along Hadrian’s Wall. Moved by the loss, I stood beside the stump and played a lament, offering a musical farewell to a tree that meant so much to so many.
