I’ve just finished my concert at the Hexham Abbey Festival and I’m about to begin my journey to Scotland. But first, I’ll be making a special stop at the 𝐒𝐲𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐩 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐞.
After last year’s experience, when I performed Lament for the Tree, returning here holds an even deeper meaning for me. This time, I’ll be performing a new piece inspired by the tree’s resilience and the growth of its new shoots, a symbol that continues to inspire me profoundly.
Following this meaningful moment, my journey through Scotland, immersed in music and nature, will officially begin!
My first stop will be Glasgow, where I’ll attend recitals by students from the Traditional Music Department at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. It’s going to be fascinating to see how the younger generation brings folk music to life.
I’ll also take advantage of the Whittaker Library to dive deeper into Scotland’s rich musical heritage, and every evening I’ll immerse myself in Glasgow’s vibrant folk scene, where tradition and creativity blend in a unique energy.
The journey will then take me to the Highlands, where on 5th October I’ll join a boat tour around the Kylesku area. I’ll explore wild coastlines and pristine waters, letting the sounds and landscapes I encounter inspire me.
Finally, I’ll take a few days to reflect and compose, turning all these extraordinary experiences in Scotland into music.
I’ll soon be sharing these special moments through photos and videos. Follow my journey on my blog https://www.riccardopesmusic.com/musicandnatureinscotland to discover all the experiences that will make it truly unforgettable.
